Decarbonization Strategies

Our industry is a significant contributor to global carbon increase. The good news is that we also have the opportunity to create the lasting change necessary to draw down carbon and deliver a sustainable future. Alpin has tapped into the potential of low-carbon solutions to provide energy efficiency in built asset design, construction, and operations, all key contributors to carbon emissions.

Global action on climate change is driving organizations across the region to seek out and adopt decarbonization strategies. In addition, governments are eager to diversify their economies, mitigate the risks of a changing climate and drive their nations to a decarbonized future. However, you cannot manage what you have not measured. Alpin offers a holistic GHG Emissions Advisory aims at supporting organizations and authorities in measuring, managing, reducing, and offsetting their emissions.

Companies in the region have already taken action, with the support of our expertise and a strong network of expert advisors, to cut their carbon emissions and costs to better align with the global decarbonization agenda and prepare themselves for the ever-changing regulatory atmosphere when it comes to carbon disclosures.

To achieve this Alpin has invested in developing a comprehensive process of data collection, management, and analysis in accordance with relevant frameworks and standards across several sectors. Our Decarbonisation Consultants can help you understand your energy consumption and assist you in developing strategies that will ensure you take significant steps to lower your carbon footprint and demand.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Carbon Emissions also known as GHG emissions, can be derived through a GHG assessment process that utilizes the GHG protocol standard and databases of emission factors to identify the associated emissions for each activity, product, and service included in an organization’s day-to-day operations.

Scope 3 emissions focus on indirect emissions that an organization is responsible for due to its supply chain. For example, the commute of employees to work, business trips, waste generated, and products and services purchased by the organization.

The most acceptable standard for determining the carbon footprint of an organization is the GHG Protocol. It was developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and provides the framework for measurement, managing, and reporting on carbon emissions.
