Alpin and Habitat for Humanity Announce a Strategic Partnership
The UAE-based consulting firm Alpin and Habitat for Humanity have announced a new strategic collaboration to improve energy-efficient shelters for low-income families across Jordan through expert technical assistance and staff volunteering.
Alpin is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing integrated solutions to the built environment. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi for more than a decade, it has offices across the Gulf Cooperation Council Region.
Habitat for Humanity is a leading global nonprofit housing organization that is driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live. Working in partnership with low-income people, Habitat focuses on building and repairing homes, renovating houses to make them more energy-efficient, providing water and sanitation solutions, and mitigating the effects of disasters.
The partnership’s objective is to provide Jordan with the application and scale-up for energy-efficient housing construction across the country. This will be done by identifying the current and emerging low-cost housing construction materials and technology available in Jordan and proposing an ideal low-income energy-efficient housing construction solution. Alpin’s research into Jordan is assisted by student-volunteers from Heriot-Watt University (Dubai Campus).
“We believe that Alpin is the ideal strategic partner for this endeavor, given our shared values with Habitat for Humanity and our passion for a sustainable built environment. We look forward to providing expert technical advice later complemented by project funding and staff volunteering. This is only the first step in establishing a long-standing partnership,” said Alpin’s Managing Director, Nareg Oughourlian.
Alpin and Habitat for Humanity share a vision of delivering unique solutions and opportunities to areas that need transformative change. The two hope to promote urbanization as a positive transformative force for people and communities through knowledge, policy advice, technical assistance, and collaborative action.
